About Amazing Earthfest
The Annual Amazing Earthfest is a signature event in Southern Utah's Kane County. The festival is designed to appeal to families and individuals from all fifty states and abroad. Visitors are invited to discover, learn from, and celebrate the national and state parks, monuments, forests and public lands of the Colorado Plateau. Featuring some of the most magnificent scenery in the world, each year during the third week of May the festival blends scientific discovery, education, and understanding, with adventure, recreation, and entertainment. Amazing Earthfest is becoming a premiere festival on the Colorado Plateau. Visitors can choose from a wide variety of scheduled activities including scientific and educational lectures and demonstrations on aspects of the land, Native American cultural programs, and pioneer history. Guided back country trips and expeditions are offered, and individual exploration is encouraged. Enhancing the festival are live musical performances, visual arts, films, handmade crafts, and culinary delights. Scientific & Cultural Presentations - Each year scholars, scientists, and staff from major educational institutions, public land managing agencies, and non-profit organizations focused on the Colorado Plateau are invited to present on geology, ecology, biology, paleontology and archeology, as well as land and resource management. Events are offered at visitor centers and out on the land, with guided visits to specific sites and expeditions to remote locations. Activities, exhibits, lectures, and demonstrations are designed to educate and inform local residents and visitors alike about recent scientific study and discoveries, history, and the natural wonders of Southern Utah and the Arizona Strip. Creative Arts & Entertainment - Artists, musicians, and storytellers are on-hand to express their experience of the life and culture of the Inter-mountain West. Pioneer history and culinary arts round out visitors’ enjoyment. Outdoor Recreation - Campers, backpackers, day hikers, horseback riders, cyclists, mountain bikers, rock climbers, road tourists, and outdoor enthusiasts using OHVs, are invited to make Southern Utah and the Northern Arizona Strip their destination for this springtime festival. In a spirit of stewardship for the gifts which Earth provides, participants in Amazing Earthfest events are asked to respect sensitive cultural and biological resources found on the public lands. Engage in your favorite sport, while enjoying the welcoming hospitality of area service providers!
